2024 — now

Independent Consultant

As an independent UX & product consultant I run projects for clients as a lead UX designer / product designer, advisor and interim product management consultant.

I often need to understand a new domain in a very short amount of time and make a big impact quickly. I’m friendly, collaborative and productive.

I’ve worked with both startups, scaleups & corporate organisations and provide full stack design services; from discovery to pixel perfect deliverables and most things in between.

2023 - 2024

Head of Product Design and UX at Hemi Health

I built the UX design from the ground up for a digital platform for neurologists, nurses and their patients in the world of headaches and migraine — focusing on a good workflow for the health care professionals while at the same time allowing patients to understand and contextualize their condition and patterns through a mobile app experience.

2021 - 2023

Head of Product Design and UX at Rokoko

Leading the design and UX team in the motion capture scaleup Rokoko. The team was responsible for the product design of Rokoko's 3D motion capture software as well as all design related to commercial touch points — as well as product design within our healthcare vertical focused on physiotherapy rehabilitation. I led the team and contributed hands-on to complex UX / UI design as well as product discovery and the application of various user centric methods into internal projects. I established the unit from the ground up and led the team for two years.

2018 - 2021

Head of Product Design and UX at Grandhood

Leading and contributing to the UX and product design activities in the team. Grandhood is a fintech startup — we built a digital pension self service solution for the SMB segment and their employees. The digital product experience consists of two major touchpoints: a company onboarding and subsequent dashboard for the admin — and a mobile app experience for the employee. We won the Danish Digital Award in 2020 for the most innovative product. Promoted from Lead UX to Head of Product Design and UX.

2016 - 2018

Lead UX designer at Noa Ignite

I worked as a UX design lead on large scale projects, leading digital product development sprints for clients in the finance, energy and traveling industry while also having line management for a group of designers focusing on career and skills development as well as day to day managerial obligations.

2012 - 2016

UX designer at Politiken

Digital product development and user experience design at the Danish News Media Politiken. Main focus on continuous, strategic improvement of the Politiken user experience. Besides that I've played a major role in designing Politiken's first longread section Magasinet, Politiken's iBYEN section and a recent strategic re-design of Politiken's loyalty programme Politiken Plus and the 2016 re-design.

2009 - 2012

UX designer at Sorthvid

Sorthvid is a small, but clever agency that focuses on complex information architecture and good user experience design. While working here I had the pleasure of creating digital user experience design for large-scale public and private clients such as the Danish Arts Council, the Danish School of Media and Journalism, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Politiken to name a few.

2003 - 2009

Studying the human condition

My educational background is sociology and I hold a master's degree from University of Copenhagen. You might wonder how a sociologist ventured into the world of tech, design and product development.

It's not that far fetched actually. At least not in hindsight. Sociology is super heavy on methodology, both qualitative, quantitive and mixed methods. It's also super heavy on understanding data and turning observations into thick and rich data or insights.

I geeked out on those things and worked as a teaching assistent in advanced qualitative methods throughout my master's programme, but in parallel with my studies in philosophy of science, social theory and what not, I also did web development and design. Combining it all turned into a love for user centric design, one where the early days of my career things like facilitation and UX research played a big role while a return to craft has been substantial in recent times.
